Detroit Officially Proclaims February 7 as J Dilla Day

J Dilla's birthday, February 7, will officially now be known as J Dilla Day in the late artist's home of Detroit, Michigan.As per HipHopDX, the news was confirmed by the city council earlier in the week, with the day commemorating how Dilla "transcended genre and influenced not only Hip Hop and electronic artists but also pop, soul, classical and jazz musicians."
